Is the hair tattoo treatment painful?

It hurts far less than having a normal tattoo and certainly much less than a hair transplant. Because SMP doesn't penetrate the skin as deeply as normal tattooing, most of our women feel very little discomfort — we usually chat throughout the whole process. There may be minor sensitivity around the temples.

Will the treatment be permanent?

Scalp Micropigmentation will not disappear but will lighten over time. Depending on your lifestyle — particularly sun exposure — you may need a touch-up. This is just one session every 3–5 years to refresh the colour.

What is the aftercare for women's SMP?

Aftercare is discussed in detail after every session. The key point for women: you cannot wash your hair for 5 days after every session. We always advise clients to colour and cut their hair before the process begins, as the area needs to be kept clean and dry while healing. Apart from that, you can carry on with life as normal — most clients return to work the next day.

Will people be able to tell I've had the treatment done?

After the initial settling period — redness subsides in 48–72 hours — your treatment will look completely natural. Initially after the first treatment, pigments may look slightly bolder as they're freshly deposited, but overnight you'll notice them softening. After the settling process, only close friends and family will notice that your hair looks more dense — not that you've had a treatment done.
